Address To The Haggis Ceremony

No Burns Night Celebration would be complete without the iconic “Address To The Haggis” ceremony. Regina Legion’s 2023 Remembrance Day Reception and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

In a grand celebration of history, community, and remembrance, the Regina Legion hosted a spectacular event to mark the official opening of its newly renovated event space within the historic Regina Memorial Building. The Remembrance Day reception and ribbon-cutting ceremony brought together a distinguished gathering of dignitaries, active service members, veterans, sponsors, and Legion members, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and gratitude.

The Regina Legion is grateful for the many dignitaries in attendance, including Provincial Ministers Laura Ross and Christine Tell, Leader of the Official Opposition Carla Beck, Regina MLA Trent Wotherspoon, Michael Kram – MP for Regina—Wascana, and Mayor Sandra Masters. This assembly of influential figures underscored the occasion’s significance, showcasing a unified commitment to honouring past sacrifices while embracing the future.

The generosity of sponsors played a pivotal role in elevating the event to new heights. Great Canadian Oil Change, Worby Wealth Management, Anchor Managed Solutions, Dusyk & Barlow Insurance, and Trusted Regina lent their support, contributing to the celebration’s success. Their commitment to the Regina Legion’s mission was evident, reinforcing the importance of community partnerships.

Silvias Italian Cafe, a beloved restaurant located in the Legion’s basement, served up delectable beef stew and buns. Pile O Bones and Regina Brewing provided a selection of beers, while fine wines from The Feminine Vine were poured by owner and sommelier Tahnee Fournier, who graced the event as the wine sponsor. The combination of these culinary delights added a delightful touch.

The highlight of the event was the ribbon-cutting ceremony held in the awe-inspiring Memorial Tower. Accompanied by a lone piper, the ceremony symbolized the opening of a new chapter for the Regina Legion. For many guests, it was their first time inside the Regina Legion, and the beauty of the space left a lasting impression.
